Video Ping Pong the oldest project in my portfolio. My motivation was my interest in video as well as internet.

The basic problem on interactive films is its linear structure, which allow one choice only between several ways. The viewers influence is little, the result is fixed right from the beginning.

The work Video Ping Pong breaks up with this determination – the story originates from the will-power of an active individual. This work-in-progress will be pursued by two persons and is comparable to a game of Ping Pong: Two people pass a video sequence to each other. Through their reaction on the former scene of the partner they will finally create the story.

Video Ping Pong is a kind of internet platform, which enables the user to upload his video sequence on a server, attach it to the existing movie and to inform the partner by email. Players can watch it and comment on the same platform.

There are two versions: open round and a thematically bound round. The second starts with a given scene, which provides some motifs in order to develop a plot. They might give the players some supporting ideas.

This project was my successful application for the Bauhaus-University, the topic was The future of television.
